Important Announcement on Legalization

It is with great joy that we inform you that on June 5th, 2017, Health Canada granted our Section 56 Exemption. The exemption process first began in 2001, and through the years many people have contributed different forms of support. We offer gratitude to all those who have provided Céu do Montréal with practical, moral, spiritual and financial assistance.

The exemption granted to Céu do Montréal is exclusively for Céu do Montréal. This exemption will allow us to import and serve our Sacrament, the Santo Daime, in our spiritual rituals.

While through our efforts we have made it possible, in principle, to obtain an exemption, this exemption does not mean that the use of Ayahuasca or Daime is legal as such in Canada. Each legitimate organization must apply to Health Canada for their own exemption, and for all information regarding the exemption process. Any importation or activities conducted with Ayahuasca/Daime without a Section 56 exemption from Health Canada will be considered illegal by the Canadian government.

It will take a little bit of time before we are able resume our calendar of Works and to receive new visitors, so we ask for your continued patience. Also please be patient if there is a delay in responding to requests. We will announce the date for a Visitor’s Information Session shortly for those who sincerely wish to learn more about our Centre and the Santo Daime religion.

Viva the Santo Daime!
Viva Céu do Montréal!

A message from Bevan

17021359_10154201375031610_5292612003114439043_nCéu do Montréal would like to thank everyone who contributed to our fundraising campaign to support our friend Bevan, which has come to an end. Bevan would like to share some words in an expression his gratitude:

I am writing today to express a huge feeling of gratitude that I have towards all the brothers and sisters, all the spiritual family members really, who have contributed in so many ways to support and facilitate the many aspects of my healing and transition process over the past few months.

There have been many positive outcomes, and, of course, many challenges yet to face in the months to come. The main point for me is the fact that so many people, both friends and strangers, came to the assistance of a brother who’s needs were beyond his capacity to meet them at a certain moment in time, and were able to generously pool their resources to his advantage in this hour of need.

My health has greatly improved as I have felt the power of your prayer and have been able to put your monetary donations to practical use to pay for medications and specialized lodgings. Love and blessings to all of you for your caring generosity which will one day be passed on to others…

With kind regards,
-Papa Bevan
